ABOUT US

Gyuri Sarossy

Gyuri played the Duke Solinus in The Comedy of Errors at the Bishop’s Palace in 2022.

Born in Bristol to a Hungarian-Transylvanian father and an English mother, Gyuri read English at Nottingham University and then joined the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Shortly after that he played the title role in Coriolanus for Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory, which pretty much turned him into an actor.

He has worked extensively in theatre in the UK and abroad, in shows with the Donmar Warehouse, National Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe, Almeida, Young Vic, Cheek by Jowl, Peter Hall Company and Royal Shakespeare Company.

His Shakespeare credits include Lucio in Measure for Measure (Shakespeare’s Globe), Theseus in Two Noble Kinsmen and Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet (both RSC), and As You Like It (Manchester Royal Exchange). He also played the title role in Macbeth for Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory, and was part of the Olivier Award winning Donmar company for Twelfth Night and Uncle Vanya.

On screen he can currently be seen in Stephen Merchant’s The Outlaws, Seasons 1 and 2, FBI International, and the upcoming season of Industry on the BBC. He works widely in audio drama, does lots of voices for computer games and was a Carlton Hobbs Award Winner.

He loves swimming and is thinking he might go all the way across the lake this year…
